Ida was perhaps not one of the virtuosa ballerinas of her time (1920s), but she was known for her acting skills on stage.
In celebration of a 5th or 6th century Christian saint who didn't actually exist, and who has been adopted by both the Uranian Love Movement of the 19th century (gay rights) and the BDSM community as their unofficial patron saint.
